Cybersecurity: Responding to the rise of deepfakes, ShareID obtained high-level compliance certification against presentation (PAD) and injection (IAD) attacks

Published on 09/22/2026, 2:43 PM

ShareID, a French company specializing in remote identity verification and authentication, announces that it has obtained high-level (High) compliance certification against presentation attacks (PAD) and injection attacks (IAD), the two leading threats to liveness detection today.

Verifying an identity remotely means answering a question that has become extremely difficult: is the person in front of the screen real, present, and truly who they claim to be? Two families of attacks seek to break that certainty. Presentation attacks (PAD) involve deceiving the camera with an artifact: a mask, photo, screen or silicone. Injection attacks (IAD), more recent and amplified by deepfakes, bypass the camera entirely to feed a manipulated stream directly into the system.

Three reference standards, a validated high-level standard

The certification covers the three reference standards in the field (ISO/IEC 30107-3, ISO/IEC 19989-3 and CEN/TS 18099). It was issued on August 19, 2026, by the certification body CLR Cert™, for the ShareID Onboarding Service, evaluated at the highest level (High).

An independent evaluation, in the service of trust

CLR Labs™ is an independent evaluation body, accredited by COFRAC and an evaluation center approved by ANSSI (the French National Cybersecurity Agency) under the PVID certification scheme, specializing in the security evaluation of biometric systems. It contributed to the development of the European specification CEN/TS 18099 on injection attack detection, the very standard against which ShareID was evaluated. This recognition provides independent, third-party proof that ShareID's anti-fraud controls meet the highest requirements.

“With deepfakes and injection tools now widely available, biometric fraud is no longer limited to presenting a photo or a mask in front of a camera: an attacker can now seek to bypass the sensor entirely and inject a fabricated stream directly into the process. We therefore chose to have our technology evaluated on both attack surfaces, physical and digital, at the High level. For our customers, what matters is being able to rely on resistance that has been measured and evaluated by an independent third party, rather than on a provider’s technology promise alone.” - Sawsen Rezig, CTO and co-founder of ShareID

This certification also provides a directly usable foundation for players pursuing ETSI TS 119 461 certification. Technical details, standards evaluated, and outlook: the full press release is available at shareid.ai/en/press.
